About Beckett

Beckett Oliver

Beckett Oliver was born on August 4, 2014. Beckett has a gentle personality and a smile that is contagious. He is known for his blue eyes and his tongue that for some reason sticks out at you and comforts your soul. Although he is gentle, he is also extremely strong spiritually and physically. Beckett was diagnosed with a liver disease called Biliary Atresia on October 10, 2014 when he was 9 weeks old. Biliary Atresia or BA is found in infants and must be acted on with a surgical procedure called the Kasai within a 90 day period to hopefully avoid the immediate need for a liver transplant. Most often, children diagnosed with BA who have received the Kasai end up on the transplant list. Beckett’s liver is failing and he is now listed for transplant. We are anxiously awaiting for the day that we receive the call that our son has a second chance at life.

#loveyaBeckett will serve many on going purposes. As Beckett’s parents our immediate focus is to:

  • Share Beckett’s expressive personality with as many people as possible
  • Spread organ donor awareness
  • Console other parents whose children have been diagnosed with Biliary Atresia
  • Bear testimony that God lives and miracles still exist
  • Provide an outlet for continued self and family healing

Hi. I have read little Beckett’s story and my heart goes out to him and his sweet family. I’m wondering if he is a candidate for a transplant from a living donor?

I just read about Beckett on 2 news. We recently moved from our home (for the last 10 years) in Lehi to North Carolina. We were in your shoes 15 years ago when my 19-month old son was transplanted to cure his Biliary Atresia. It’s been a long road with some ups and downs, but he is now a perfectly healthy 16-yr-old kid- driving a car and amazing everyone with his talents for music and languages. I will be praying for Beckett and your family. Let me know if you have any questions I can answer.

  4. Hello! We are hosting a fundraiser next weekend for my father who also needs a liver transplant. We would love to promote Beckett and his story at our event. If you could please contact me ASAP at rodsforrod@gmail.com, I’d love to coordinate with your family and see if Beckett is a candidate for a live donor transplant. If so, we can add his information to our campaign. I look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best on this journey.

Hope and prayers! I will be sending something this week. My mother had a liver transplant way back in 1989 when it was experimental we were blessed to have her an extra 25 years. There are foundations to help with the cost of the transplant, Mickey Mantle and a few others. The transplant team at IMC are amazing.

This certainly hit home with me hearing your story. I lost my little sister one week before her first birthday because she wasn’t able to get her liver transplant. I will certainly be donating to help your son. God bless you and your family.

I saw your story on the news. Beckett is such a beautiful baby! I can’t imagine what you’re dealing with as a family. I am so sorry you have to go through this. I hope he is able to get his liver transplant soon and I hope my small donation will help you out. Beckett and your family will be in my prayers.

Beckett is such a beautiful boy. My heart aches over the anguish and pain you must be feeling as parents. My son and I just watched the news report and we are putting together our piggy bank money and extra savings and will be sending you a donation in the mail. We will pray for you that a transplant is found soon.
